They have mesh in the toe box and thats where the difference between water shoe and any ole sport shoe. The reason they fit so good and have great traction is because they are a decent sport shoe. And just like any good shoe they take FOREVER to dry and end up smelling awful first day. Even in 100 degree heat they did not dry overnight. All that padding and insulation. But the support is so good for my injury recovery that ive machine washed them and left them outdoors and am hoping for the best. So, while ill keep them, i may have well worn any other shoe in my closetIt felt good, quality wasn't the best, it did get unstitched a bit in some placesNeeded something for trip to Costa Rica. Wanted something I could hike in and go into the water in so I only need to take one pair of shoes. I will be going in a few weeks so I will update this review.For now, they look pretty well fit for the purpose. The top part is very light and thin. You can see your toes right through the shoes. A mosquito will easily be able to bite through the open holes. The sole is pretty solid. I wanted this so stones and pebbles wouldn't go right through the sole and into the shoe. The bottom part of the shoes is like a regular sneaker or running shoe. Won't know about it's wet performance until I go on the trip.I universally have worn a mens 9 all my life. This shoe is only available in 8.5 or 9.5. I got both. The 8.5 fits better. The 9.5 allows too much foot movement which I don't want in wet conditions. The toe box is pretty voluminous.One thing I don't appreciate about the seller is that he puts several completely different products in his listing. One style doesn't even have drain holes so it shouldn't even be considered an amphibious shoe and should be on its own listing. One purchaser asked about this in the questions and the seller weasled his way out by saying he wants to provide "options". He probably wants to save money on listing costs. At this point due to weighing 235, with surgeries on both hips & lower back, these classes, along with slow swimming, are my main source of exercise ( can`t lift, either; shoulders are lunch meat). I need good support/cushioning for impact. These shoes actually fit my true size of 11.5 wide/extra wide! Several shoes I`ve bought at 12 wide/extra wide haven`t been wide enough. I don`t wear socks unless the uppers are too irritating. I like the tongue with laces instead of the webbing set up; easier to get on & off. The mid-sole gives you pretty good cushioning; not the best compared to others I use, but pretty good. They`re not real floaty, & that`s good if you have to swim a short distance in them. A good price for the money for how I use them.As the weather is getting colder, the water aerobics classes are moving to the inside pool. I needed a pair of shoes to wear as the indoor pool bottom is slippery. Because of my foot issues, I needed something with a solid sole and good support. These fit the bill perfectly. I absolutely love the shoes! They are sturdy enough to wear outside of the pool too - could be used for light hikes where there may be water, or for things like kayaking, etc. They are NOT designed for serious hiking!That being said, the shoelaces will NOT stay tied. I've even double and triple knotted them and they still come untied. I've had to stop to retie at least twice in every class (and class only lasts 50 minutes!) In doing a little more digging, most lace-up water shoes come with a toggle lock for the laces. These do not.The manufacturer should consider adding toggles to the next update of this shoe. They are extremely cheap and shouldn't effect the price.UODATE: The shoe laces do NOT stay tied in the water. I ended up purchasing some elastic slide-lock laces to replace the ones that came with the shoes. Links below. The do run a little big. I wear an 8.5 and bought a 7.5 they fit ok just a tad short. But I managed 4 days of river with them so not too bad. I will order a half size smaller next time (8) not a (7.5)The shoes are visually appealing and appear to be well made. However, the protuberance beneath my big toe stretches the material to the max which can be a bit uncomfortable yet I tend to have big feet anyways. Other than that, I like these shoes. Especially with the mesh, they are breathable, and because these are water shoes, I love that I can wear these while boating and don't have to come home with soggy, wet feet as the shoes dry quickly by the time I get home. They are comfortable enough for me to use as everyday shoes as well. I wear a size 12.5 and they do fit to size, but as I mentioned earlier I have oddly shaped big feet anyway so I'm always having problems with fitting but I can attest these do fit to size. The bottom of the shoes has great traction too for as I even tested them out when running on the treadmill. For being water shoes, I am impressed with their versatility. Tengo dos semanas usándolos casi diario y hasta ahorita no tengo queja, buena compra.Los zapatos me quedaron bien, las medidas que anuncian corresponden a las reales. parecen de buena calidad. Todavía no los pruebo en el agua, que es para lo que los compré, ya veremos.
