Ordered half size up and liked it so much I got a second pairI like a firm shoe top and bottomMy Superfeet fit in perfectlyPerfect, lightweight, comfortable.Extremely comfortable and stylish!Too narrow , please make the same beautiful shoe with a wider toe box for bunions.Very rarely can I buy footwear unless it really IS quality and wear straight away. Normally I have to size up for trainers or walking shoes, Merrell's only go up to 8.5 so this is a shade over (half if you will) a NORMAL size 8. I say NORMAL because I am heartily sick of shoes that state 41 size 8. The sizing is stupid and rarely accurate. I am DELIGHTED testate I WILL be buying from this company again. I have real support for someone who suffers from. arthritis and Hypermobility plus achey knees. I took them for a test walk with the dogs around the woods, bliss! Bliss on the road too! Enough room to wear thicker socks in Winter, as I say...down to quality. Thank you Merrell!!I have tried many brands of walking shoes but since finding Merrell I wouldn't buy any other brand. They are comfortable and supportive for long trecks. These are waterproof. They have plenty of room around the toe area (nothing worse than tight shoes on a long walk!). I'd say my toe area is a little broader than average and the rest of my feet are average width. For this reason I prefer walking shoes that are a little broader than average and these are! They fit so well, with enough room in my normal size to wear thick socks. I personally think that these are the best walking shoes on the market at this price range, hands down. Easily 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Many thanks to all the replies, regarding my question about the design of the vamps on these walking shoes. I appreciate you all. I had asked if the vamps were wide enough to meet in the middle and cover the tongue underneath. These do not, and the tongue, is taking up the work, that full closing vamps would do; it's (the tongue), also just a bid narrow. My quest for traditionally made way good shoes for walking continues.I have been told by the people who answered my question - that these prevent water entering, (mud and dirt).I have only tired them on indoors, the fit is good and secure, but the narrow vamps, 10's of eyelets put me off keeping them. Also the sole is solid and firm not at all flexible to allow for the foots natural movement. My quest for walking shoes with proper vamps that meet in the middle and cover the tongue, that are light weight continues. Unfortunately, I will return themExcellent walking shoes, with enough ankle support without having to go to a full boot. Far better, stronger and more comfortable than my previous Merrells, really feel they support my feet but without squashing them tight. They are very, very comfortable and look great too. Value for money, I highly recommend. This is my 2nd pair of Merrel shoes for which I have had a design issue. The shoes have ripped as shown on the photos. It is not only poorly sawn, it is a bad design as it creates a weak spot.My previous Merrel shoes were a net upper side and they both develop a hole by the smaller toe because the net needs to be reinforced. It seems that Merrel's reputation is at stake with their latest designs. Not durable. Not recommended.PS: I have never had issues with previous shoes of any other brand.
